Using a focused laser beam, it delivers highest repeatable accuracy (2σ) ≤ 0.1μm and standard comprehensive accuracy (2σ) ≤ 1μm, enabling reliable control of tool offsets and cutting performance. It supports micro-tool measurement down to Ø0.03mm, ideal for precision machining, electronics, medical parts, molds, and any process that relies on small cutters and tight tolerances.
Because measurement is non-contact, it can eliminates probe wear and reduces the risk of tool damage. It can detect tool length, tool diameter, and tool deflection, and even identify defects such as damage to the teeth of multi-tooth tools. Highly dynamic scanning captures tool characteristics quickly, cutting measurement and inspection time by up to 60% while maintaining extremely low defect rates. The tool setter also supports a true closed-loop workflow: it can automatically update tool offset errors, and it can monitor and compensate for thermal deformation of the machine tool spindle, helping maintain stable accuracy throughout long runs.
Engineered for real shop conditions, the laser tool setter provides reliable measurements even with coolant present. It uses software algorithms to actively recognize and filter interference from water droplets, dirt, and coolant residues that may adhere to the tool, significantly reducing false alarms and improving process robustness. The unit is sealed to IP68 and rated waterproof up to 10 meters, allowing confident use in harsh, wet machining environments.
